Converter ques...and IC ques

Well since my tranny is out and getting reworked, I figured I might as well put a stall converter back in. What stall do you think works well as a street strip application? I got this truck and needs some work as many of you know now and it already has a pretty large turbo on it, a cam, and ported vortecs . I have a pt-54 on my buick and the turbo on my sy looks pretty much the same size. It had a stock converter before and had horrible lag..
Also, I was wondering how intense the air to air conversion with the saab 9000 IC was. Anyone have pics? I did a powerstroke IC on my buick which wasnt really hard. If its just a matter of fabbing up piping then id like to try it. Spacing is pretty tight and was just curious especially with these trucks not having an electric fan or an intake that shoots towards the front like GN's

You will want at least 3000 to 3200 , a 2800 may work well , but around that area .

anyone running a non-lockup converter on the street for everyday use? Im finding that they are a lot cheaper and also the lockup converters do not come in a higher stall like non-lockups unless you want to fork out the $$ for a nice one.
Pros and Cons please.. :D

I have a 3k stall Hughes Performance TC w/lockup in my truck and I love it: http://www.centergc.org/images/misc/Mike/gallery/syclone2932/IMG_0655 I can go from 15 inches of vacuum to 15 pounds of boost in under one second with my stock turbo. I'll see sometime next year how well it will spool my PTE stealth turbo after I fab up a downpipe...

Not running a lockup converter is a bad idea IMHO. Outside if the better fuel economy and the .2 or more you will shave off your passes at the track it wil make your transmission live longer. The reason is without a lockup, there will ALWAYS be some slippage occuring even at cruise. When there is slippage, heat is generated and heat is the number one killer of an ATX. If you decrease the temperature of your transmission by just 10%, it can double it's life. Bottom line is our trucks kill transmissions, try your best to delay the inevitable.
