Looking for tips, tricks, and products you guys use to clean engine bay...basically with summer coming, just like to touch get the general dirt, oil out of there...whats best?
Be careful with any electrical stuff with the power washer. Most of the stuff in the engine bay is designed to keep water out, but it's not designed to withstand 100psi directly at it.
I was told a while back to mist the engine bay, then spray Simple Green all over, and just use a regular running garden hose to wash it off (as opposed to something high pressure).
I like to use Mother's Trim Detailer for all the plastic or rubber pieces in the engine bay. Back when I had my Typhoon, it did wonders on the intake tube and all the hoses. I still use it on my Mustang, but all my intake tubes are metal and there aren't as many hoses showing. Overall though, it does an excellent job. For general cleaning, I always used Simply Green. Oh, and also some waterless paint cleaner for all the painted parts in the engine bay.
