Cladding tab repair

OK, I have done a little searching and found a few threads. My questions

3M Automix. Which one is best? Is this good for the tabs or just for cracks, sanding and painting

Should I use something more rigid for the tabs, I have no need to sand it as it wont be seen.

Will the plastic weld and or jb weld that i can get at the local autoparts place hold up to the more expensive 3M stuff you get at the paint/body supply?

I have a few tabs that the rivet and or screw holes have broken off, anyone have any luck making the holes whole again?

I used some 3m 2 part epozy its about 40.00 per tube plus you need a caulking gun for it worked awsome I used it to reinforce tabs also makes a huge strength difference

Been searching 3m products, there are tons of them. Do you remember which one it was? Does it come with the gun?

That sucks.. The ones I've found have been around 50 to 60 for the gun w/o the nozzle.. maybe have to look into something else....

I used 5 min epoxy from the Automotive section at walmart. Did a few tabs 4 years ago and they're still holding strong! Stuff dries clear and bonds very well. For just doing tabs where sanding and appearance isn't as important I don't think its necessary to spend big money for products. I've used this stuff to secure some cracks in my motorcycle plastics and it hasn't let me down yet! Just my 2 cents

Used this as well. Works great, no problem, and sands well!

i like to plastic weld them then on both side then on back side i melt a piece of aliminum screen in and melt plastic over piece. the use chemical plastic repair then you have 3 repairs as a reasurance. as for the guns you can push out 2 equal parts out on a piece of card board and mix together with spreader. this also helps if you have gun and only need a lil bit you dont waste a tip at 1.25 a piece hope this helps
