Choosing the right transmission

So my truck is almost back together and I think my transmission is on the way out if the overdrive servo is not stuck.

What transmission would you recommend?

RPM block with 2 bolt mains, roller rockers, very mild port for heads and manifold, will run alcohol injection with code 59 once break in is complete

will stick with this setup if stock trans is okay

if a built trans is needed i would modify my build for target power output is high 10- mid 11 in alaska at sea level

daily driver

pull two snowmachines, two four wheelers, or two wave runners

would prefer to stick with the 700r4

Are you saying that your truck runs mid 10's? What turbo do you have? If you are running in the 10's or even 11's, I would likely consider the 80e conversion if you can afford it. If not, maybe go with a fully built 700 with nothing left untouched costing you about 90% of an 80e swap.

My truck is completely stock power wise right now. However, as soon as the motor is broken in I will be maxing the stock turbo with alcohol injection.

If I go with a built 700r4 (my personal preference) I would probably keep it stock turbo or upgrade to a more efficient turbo and keep everything the same.

I would like to tow about 2000-2500lbs.

If I do the 80e swap then I might as well go all out until the new block grenades and then go with an ls swap. My friend would install the tranny for me because I would be a test mule for his Denali he wants an 80e in.

I was wondering if the 700r4 could handle towing 2000lbs and who would you recommend to get a built 700r4 from if it could handle the weight.

700 can tow ok but the IC system will let you down. The tow rating is due to the turbo working at high power for long periods.

With your build plans I would get the 80e though.

The guy is talking stock here. I think a 700 will be fine. You do know we aren't supposed to tow more than 500 lbs right? There have however, been a few who have towed things like you're talking with good success. Personally as someone who tows almost everyday I wouldn't use a TY for it, I don't think it is worth it. More or less sounds like an "image" thing.

I have a syclone BTW, but I think I will try and go for the 4l80e if the stock transmission is going out.
