Changing Brake Stop Light Switch

Anybody ever changed theirs? I bought the part for like 5 bucks. I unscrewed the plastic piece under the steering wheel then realized the brake release handle is a problem. I changed mine out. Pretty easy.

the brake light switch should be just a pop out the old pop in the new type deal. make sure you seat the wire in well or you wont make a connection and have no brake lights (which is bad, i know from experience). you should be able to adjust the switch in or out at the brake pedal. hth

Are you talking about the parking brake release handle? If so you just need to slide the end of the cable out of its little holder up under the dash. Then pull the handle out and the plastic will come right out giving you full access to the brake switch..

I am talking about the switch at the brake pedals, there are 2 there and I was wanting to replace the one higher up, but I am finding it hard to get access to.

You may need to remove the bottom switch to remove the top. I think I had to...
