brakes help needed

Just finished installing bigger brake cylinders and new shoes. I got two sets of shoes and only used the biggers ones. Brakes still wont hold. I am lucky to get 1-3 PSI max of boost before the truck starts moving. Peddle still fills soft. No idea why. I used to be able to build like 10+ PSI like 4 years ago. No idea what is wrong now. I seen posts about bleeding the ABS. I never dont that yet. I also seen posts about the master cylinder and the valve may also be bad. Where do I start at? How can i check this stuff with out replacing it? If i have the truck off and I pump the break the peddle gets stiff. If I have the truck running and try to pump the break it will never get stiff and will almost goto the floor each time. Any advise??

Bleed your brakes before you do anything else. I installed some cross-drilled rotors, ceramic pads, and bled the brake system when I was through. I would creep whenever I tried a boostlaunch before the bleeding, but I can hold enough boost to burn out all four tires for about half a block now.

I think this is why my heater core exploded... :D

You have or haven't bled your ABS/brakes? Your first post said you've never bled the ABS, yet you've bled the brakes?

The Master Cylinder can go bad at the drop at of a hat in these trucks. Mine went bad on my old Typhoon back in 2001 just for doing a front pad / disc swap. The old gunk in the lines will get pushed back up into the screens just by pushing the calipers open.

Your symptoms sound exactly like mine. I had my MC replaced at the dealer to the tune of ~$180.
