okay so just me doing some thinking these things in stock form have no bov to release excess boost when the throttle is snapped shut under boost causing minor turbo flutter correct?

i am thinking about adding one to mine (all stock syclone)

what would be the benefits other than a cool noise and what is a good loud bov.

i guess i rely just need someone to educate me a little about all of this and how the turbo and waste gate ect exactly works on these trucks .

Re: bov questions

The only time the throttle blades snap shut is when you're in WOT and let out all together. Otherwise, the blades are continuously open during shifting while under throttle unlike a manual.

So, for us a BOV is somewhat of a novelty. It may be beneficial to a slight degree if you were going to autoX where you are on and off the throttle to help keep boost stacked...but you can do that trail braking too. On a stock truck, you're going to see little to no improvement in performance. Never heard of a truck breaking because of lack of a BOV.

Most will agree that the HKS SSQV is one of the louder ones.

Do a little searching and you will find a lot of threads on this. Also, if you get on youtube and search different types of BOVs you can hear the sounds to get an idea. I was going to run one but decided it was just a hassle and not needed.

I ran a Blitz BOV for awhile. It was a cool taunting devise to other drivers. But it took a bunch of playing with to get it to work right on my Sy. I'm running stock setup now.
