Bone stock dyno chart?

Hi guys! I am currently saving up money for a Typhoon and reading as much as I can about the vehicles. Something that bugs me is I see widely ranging horsepower / torque figures (along with 0-60 times).

I was wondering if anyone had a dyno chart from their stock typhoon? I realize that due to the nature of the engine the power outputs are going to vary from vehicle to vehicle, but some places I see the car quoted at 280 HP and others 330? I also hear torque numbers in the mid 400's?

Another thing that bugs me is some people tell me the REAL WORLD 0-60 is under 5 seconds? But all the magazines I've tracked down that did track testing show the 0-60 around 5.3. I also see stock 1/4 mile times ranging from 13.5 (!!!) to 14.1. I realize a lot of this is due to the launch and also the condition of the engine.

Anyway I was just hoping some of you guys could set the record straight for me!

All the information you have is correct :)

Almost any car has variances in HP/Torque figures. There are oddballs that run really well - there are others that run not so really well. You'll even find this in a Toyota Camry. Also different dynos, weather, barometric pressure, phase of the moon, leap year....

GM rated them low on HP for whatever reason. Some of us like to believe it was to not take sales away from the Vette. :) Then there is always the transmission rating.

0-60 - who cares :) There isn't much that'll hang. 60-100 is another question ;)

Mine is bone stock and I've never had anykind of catastrophic failure, knock on wood! I don't drive the piss out of it either but good luck on getting a Typhoon

As list members mentioned, SyTy times/hp/torque do vary due to:

-humidity, altitude, temperature
-boost, octane/detonation-prevention, tuning
-intercooler, and exhaust efficiency/mods (ie cat/no cat)
-suspension mods, tire contact/traction/size
-vehicle weight (driver, stereo, bedliner, etc)
And whether the factory pre-tuned; or magazine tests where given
dyno`d vehicles.

Facts:
-Car and Driver magazine got a Sy speedmeter up to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds,
beating the corvette ZR-1 by 0.3 seconds (they said the 4.3 liter V-6 reached
30 mph faster than ANY production vehicle it tested!)
-Emich Dealership in Colorado (Fred Emich) sponsored a race
at Bandimere Dragstrip (the infamous Syclone vs $220,000 Ferrari challenge)
which showed the Truck winning more than once (Emich even let Ficco, the
Ferrari owner drive the Syclone as proof that the Syclone was "just-plain" faster).

In some respects, the "less accurate" these publish figures are (erroring to the conservative side)
the more SyTy owners can acquire loans, obtain reasonable insurance, and "whip up" on more costly/expensive/advertised vehicles.
