This isn't a kill so much as a curiousity as to who it was.
Tuesday night I was cruising along Rt. 46 East in Ledgewood (by Cliffs, but in the opposite direction for those familiar with the area). I really was minding my own business, on my way out to pick up a 12-pack and some other stuff. As I'm approaching a light (by the car wash, for those in the know) I see a Typhoon coming up FAST. I saw the cowl induction hood and figured it was my old Typhoon. I hadn't noticed the gray cladding at that point (mine was all black).
The light ahead was red and I started slowing down. The road splits to 3 lanes wide just before the light and then back down to 2 lanes after the light. The 'bonus' third lane was empty. I figured I'd take it but I feared launching against a Typhoon even with my MT ET Streets out back. As I was contemplating this the light turned green - so it was to be from a roll. I floored the GN and immediately got to well beyond the posted speed limit. Not really to 'race' the Typhoon but to get ahead of the traffic at the light. I can't say for sure the Typhoon was really in it, but I left him way back. I misjudged the length of the 'bonus' lane and had to pass a Taurus at ludicrous speed in what was basically the shoulder at that point. I felt like an ass but I had little choice. I rarely drive like that, actually I never drive like that. I thanked whoever is responsible for such things that the cop that usually sits there wasn't sitting there at that point.
As soon as I let off the throttle the Ty came flying up on my left. The driver said "nice!". I don't know if it was a sarcastic "nice" because of the shoulder move or if it was a genuine "nice". I smiled and gave him a thumbs up. He took off and I kept cruising at the speed limit.
Evidently he was going to the 'cruise night' at the same mall where I needed to get my stuff. I saw him again and waved.
Aaaaaanyway. I figured it was one of the two local guys that I know hang out on this board but I guess not. It was black/gray with gold lettering. My memory of these things is fading but I think that makes it a '93?
