Best place for paint?

Based on previous expierences, which places would you reccomend for having vehicles painted? I already know that Maaco is a joke, so any other good places to go to have some minor rust repaired and some new paint put on? After we replace the cladding over the front wheels we're going to get the truck repainted. Thanks :tup:

A. talk to local people at car shows, friends, ect, get information by word of mouth

B. hit the yellow pages, see if there are any quality name national repair shops like www.carstar.com for example

C. when you call any places, ask them if they know what a Syclone or Typhoon is

D. bring the truck to places and get estimates and ask HOW they plan on doing the work. For example, if one place says they will mask everything off and another says they pull the windows, door handles, ect, you better believe Id go with the second one.

E. You get what you pay for, dont think by getting away with a cheap paint job youre gonna be happy when all is said and done. Get the most expensive job you can afford.

whats rusted? if its a fender or door replace the panel rust is like cancer it doesnt go away. if its a bed buy a new bed from texas they are cheap.

Oh another thing take the door handles glass and such out your self its a lot cheaper. the more dissassembly you do the better the job.

where in texas can you find the beds you have a number or e-mail address i have a so gt that needs a bed can 't find a decent one anywhere

where do you live? In michigan there is about 20 places that deal with rust free truck parts, check your local auto swapper.

we only have a very small hole (size of a dime or less) above the RR wheel, and some paint bubbling on the roof above the windshield, and a small chunk on the front of the bed by where the previous owner screwed in the left hinge for the tonneau. otherwise the inside of the bed is perfect (besides some dust) even the tailgate sticker is in great shape. We fixed some surface rust on the drivers door, sanded away all the rust, sealed, bondo'd, prime and paint (looks better but kind of wavy) overall theres no god-awful rust problems, and if we need to replace the panel above the RR wheel we can get a patch panel from LMC, they worked perfect on the S-15 besides the crappy welds the guy that installed it did.:2cents:

i work for D&M Corvette in downers grove IL. We do great work but it will really cost you.
