Beltech rear sway bar

Anyone one using the Beltech rear sway bar with Beltech lowering leaf springs? My concern is when the sway bar goes over springs to attach to frame, the gap between the two is so tight, I can't get my finger through there. When I hit bumps in the road I hear metal on metal contact.
Thanks

Most likely bar hitting the hooks on the leads, I do believe mine does it! Sway bar by belltech just installed!

I had the Belltech sway bar with Belltech leaf springs and had the same clunking problem. The two really aren't compatible with each other.

Im starting to feel this way myself. I have a clunking as well. Running the leafs, sway bar, 1/2" blocks. If I had to do it over again (and I probably will) I would do the 2nd gen sway bar as it mounts inboard of the leafs.

Are we talking about Sy's or Ty's, or does the problem persist on both trucks. I've got both on my truck, but it hasn't hit the road yet.

Re: Beltech rear sway bar

This is weird, I just installed miy swap bar yesterday, after it sitting in the garage for over ayear. It's tight fit and I put the bolt in upside down( threads pointing up) as when it was tightened down the threds were almsot touching the leaf springs. Tighten up the bolts that hold to the bracket first. Then leave the bracket to the frame loose. Go to the bracket that holds to the rear end and push it forwad as much as you can, then tighten those 4 bolts down ( don't forget the grease). After the rear end brackets are tight, do the frame bracket next ( 19 mm wrench/socket). It's tight back there, but now wondering about the bracket upside down idea. And not that it matters but the belltecj decal on the sway bar was upside down on mine. Well at least I can read it while on my creeper.

Re: Beltech rear sway bar

I just installed my Belltech springs and sway bar yesterday. I seem to be getting a little clunk. After a few miles, I'll check all the bolts. If the one in question is touching the springs, I'll try turning that bracket upside down.

Edit - It's almost too compliant now. I took out a 1" block and a wedge, and installed the springs with JTR set backs. I think I'll set my shocks one click stiffer when I check the bolts.

Anyone ever figure this out for the Syclone? I already have the Belltech BEL-5520 (1") sway bar on my Syclone and I am about to add the Belltech lowering springs BEL-5954 with JTR setback plates, but I am worried about this clearance issue brought up in this thread.

BEL-5520 (1") is for the Syclone and mounts in the frame.

BEL-5525 (1.25") says it is for the Typhoon on the website, but the the instructions say it is for Typhoon/Syclone. It says to mount it on the side of the frame rail with a bracket... http://www.belltech.com/extras/docs/BBGC/5525.pdf

This must be a typhoon only problem. There is no way my sway bar will be hitting my leaf springs on my syclone. There is plenty of clearance.
