Bad Weather Blues...

Sitting here in Oklahoma with ice and snow everywhere, Syclone has been cleaned to within an inch of its life, and now no fun to be had.... :(

Is anyone else trapped inside with their Sy/Ty, waiting for better weather?? :)

Great weather in january. No rain in sight. 50* and cool and crisp. Great turbo weather :( and a SY in pieces.

mines waiting for better weather too along with a whole new driveline. waiting for all the new parts to roll in from Prime gears and campbell auto. Thoughts of hearing that sy spool up is keeping me awake at night.

Re: Bad Weather Blues...

Yup, it's too bad I didn't have a garage full of parts waiting to be installed ;)

I was just reading the threads on the improved steering shaft and steering box and thought that would be a great bad-weather project. Mine tends to wander and feels pretty vague... time to order some parts!

Well, let's all hang together with this until the weather improves.. then it's boost time! :D

Looks like 4 or 5 of us here from Oklahoma.... sounds like we need to get together this Spring and check out each other's rides.

Re: Bad Weather Blues...

I HATE WINTER!! NO fun for me here in Illinois.

It snowed last night at 3 am. I'm in my Blazer 4x4 on fresh snow roads and can't play around because my tanks on E! "so wait 'til tommorow" I say, but the now roads are clear.

I picked up my Typhoon #1597 a few months ago from Kentucky (800 trailored miles). It was EXTREMLEY CLEAN!!! Well I wanted that Weds. off to beat the snow we were expecting. Jerks at work said no, I could'nt get anyone to trade hrs. (they gave a coworker that weds off after I already asked!) so I had to take Thurs. instead. 16 hrs later my SUPER detailed, never seen salt, Ty was incased with salt an ice on my trailer. I spent a week cleaning it when it origanally just needed a car cover thrown over it. It' good as new now, but would still love to kick those guy's........... :squint:

Now for my other Ty #0157. My Blazer, was acting up on me. It was getting worse by the day. I checked/ replaced numerous ignition & fuel components. still nothing. I called my mechanic buddy, told him that I was going to go 15mi to my shop, drop the Blazer, get my Ty for ONE day (roads dry w/ no salt), had to go to work, and we'd fix the truck later in my warm, lighted, tool filled shop. I was sure it was'nt gonna make it to work in the blazer. He says: "you'll be late to work cuttin' it close" Taking his advice, I drive 15 mi to work, break down, break the bolt on new dist. cap, walk to work----long story short- Drove my EXTREMLEY CLEAN Ty a week in rain, spent a week cleaning this one too, and froze my tail off on the side of the dark, cold, highway fixin' the Blazer. Result, $80 Flatbed bill, $200 garage repair bill, (I dont mess w/ timing) all because of a ignition module, that we were gonna test, had it been at my shop.

Re: Bad Weather Blues...

I hate the winter too... my Ty has been garaged since november... came out one day in Dec when it was absolutely torrential rain so the salt got washed away. But other than that it won't move again until april ... oh well, got the GT to keep me busy
