Back Hatch Keyless?

Its been a month or two since i messed with the ty but I went to open the back window with the keylees remote and no pop. I cant remember if that button ever was a working button or not. The button up front makes a pop but doesnt open the window and i thought that the only way I had ever got it open was the keyless remote button. Could someone let me know if there is some way fix this or how to reset or reprogram the keyless remote (if that is my prob).

try adjusting the striker, maybe try to look at a search for the keyless program. my keyless pops the rear window.

If your remote still unlocks your doors, then the remote is fine. There have been some fixes posted for fixing the glass-popper. From what I recall, some people have had luck by cleaning up the ground connection. Do a search, and I'm sure you'll find what you're looking for.

The tailgate lock is pretty easy to get open with a paperclip. Don't tell anyone though.

Actually it'd be kind of nice if thieves figured that out so they would stop bending everybody's sheetmetal while trying to pop the lock with a screwdriver.

Thanks for you info guys, but my problem is that when i push the button on my remote the rear window solenoid doesnt even pop. I vaguely remember using the rear hatch button once or twice before. If i push the button inside the truck it pops loud but doesnt actually open. :evil: NJTy :evil: I guess im as lucky as you cause my key doesnt even fit into my tailgate lock (but i am going to try the paperclip method). I know that my lil nephew found my keys and was pushing a lot of buttons on the remote before I realized he had it. DOnt know if maybe somehow he screwed something up. Does anyone know if there is a reset for the keyless remote?

try applying some pressure to the handle while you hit the button. if you can hear it trying to do something, this could work. i wrapped a piece of electrical tape around the latch hook on the inside of the window to stop the rattling, and sometimes if i dont close my hatch hard enough it doesnt want to open, try pushin it down then hittin the button

its A LOT easier just to yank it out of the sheetmetal. Thats what the thieves did when it was stolen before, thats what I did on my 92 when that one too a crap.....come to think of it, this is the 4th lock Ive had to put in my tailgate in the past 4.5 years.

I dont really see how a paperclip is going to do anything more than the key would, unless you meant from the inside.

I was saying that since your key doesn't work, you could use a paperclip instead. Only took me about 10 seconds to get mine unlocked with a paperclip.

I guess it depends on why your key doesn't work. It doesn't neccesarily mean the lock cylinder is completely dead. The paperclip method basically jiggles the pins in the lock into the correct position (or close enough) to turn the lock. The paperclip will still jiggle the pins to whatever position will open the lock, even if your key won't, as long as the lock isn't totally fubar.
