I know it isn't a syclone or typhoon, but is inspired by and will use many syty parts.

Here is the truck I am starting with :)

I finally got my chasis this week.

starting with a 1985 s10 4x4 chasis.

going to be stripping it down completely and rebuilding it from the ground up with quality parts.

first stage (suspension and steering):
zq8 rear springs
zq8 sway bars (front and rear)
zq8 hop shock
beltech torsion bar keys
zq8 steering box
complete front suspension and steering rebuild

stage 2 (frame mods):
shorten wheelbase 10"
relocate cab and bed mounts
add datsun front and rear bumper mounts

stage 3 (driveline):
decide (tpi, lt1, lsx)
trailblazer ss or syty/bravada transfer case
4L60, 4L70, or 4l80 transmission (leaning to 4l60/70 that matches transfer case)
custom length rear driveshaft
modify front differential for awd or replace with bravada unit
upgrade to rear disk brakes
posi in the rear

stage 4 (body/wheels):
cut out firewall and floor pan
fabricate new transmission tunnel (s10 trans tunnel may be used)
rebuild firewall
add steel cowl to stock hood
modify radiator core support to use bigger radiator
fender flares (gotta find some i like)
paint robins egg blue pearl with pearl white accents
wheels (thinking 93-94 firehawk wheels in pearl white)

stage 5 (wiring and interior):
modify gm wiring harness to fit the datsun (have 97 silverado for parts)
2nd gen s-10 manual steering column (tilt)
astro steering shaft
chevy sonic guage cluster (if i can make it work)
buick lesabre seats with integrated seat belts
bravada or syty floor shifter

stage 6 (stereo):
kicker comp 10 custom box that extends under driver seat
kicker 6.5" speakers in the kick panels

4x6 speakers in the dash top
Kenwood cd player (kdc-7004)

No stage 2 is:
Upgraded hpfp
Catless
3" down pipe
Res delete
2.5" stainles charge pipe w/ eurojet 500 fmic
Updated cams
Snow performance water meth
Catch can
Evo ms intake
Konis+h&r springs
S/s
United ms tune

Haha... j/k...

Could be pretty sweet... the body has some potential. Any reason not to use the chassis in it?

I want all wheel drive v8 :)

plus the suspension of the datsun just requires a lot more fabrication to be able to go and stop :D

it already has a 4 wheel disk conversion that i am planning to sell off.

thanks,
chris

if you want AWD V8, then forget about the 4L60E/4L70E and the Trailblazer T-case, they are all weak points unless you plan to keep it 400HP or so.

SO I dont really know what your plans are for the truck. what your hopes and dreams are for performance. You didnt mention any really, so im guessing you just want it for the show.

I would stay away 100% from the TBSS setup. id stay sway from that stupid torsion transfercase, and that weak 4l70e or whatever it is they put in them. The Tcase is a joke and wont even work without the stability control. It is all junk.

Figure out a performance goal, a sorta weight of the the truck, and a sorta budget on drivetrain and I can give you some good advice.
