Any problems w/certain offset wheels rubbing? and how ZR1

Has anyone run an 18 inch by 9.5 rims and had any rubbing problems with any certain offset? i want to run a pretty thick set of tires and am still unsure of the offset i want to run. and is the ZR1 the perfect offset or can it actually be improved by changing the offset. Im not going to run ZR1s but if the ZR1 9.5 has the perfect offset, thats what I'll go with. Ive never run ZR1s on a syclone so I'm not sure where they sit on the truck.

they sit very nice on my truck, but they will rub on a sharp turn. you can either put in a steering stop or just grind away a little material on the arms so it's not rubbing anymore. don't really think you can improve the offset any, mine sit totally flush with the cladding and look awesome, but just stick in a little far is all. price you pay for the width i guess. 11's on the rear are gooder 8) this is all for a 17" zr1 set, but i believe that the 18's were having the identical problems though.

man that first picture is a really nice pic, i grabbed it and added it to my screensaver rotation. do you have the cladding painted the same color as the truck or is it a different shade. someone here in the forum has their cladding painted a rally black, a bit of a contrast to the body paint to break it up, i wish i could see a good picture of that or see it in person so i could see the effect of that. anyhow, i wish i could bring the front end down but since i cant i guess i'll try and step up to 18s to bring the tire to the wheel wells. i guess i'll use the ZR1 offset, it is a good flush sitting wheel. only problem with the 18s is I'll lose the gear ratio. Im not too crazy about that. I seen the Z06s for the first time this weekend on a custom vette, man they were sharp. I went to the super chevy show in gainsville this weekend, didnt take the syclone, and there were none there, was hoping to see one.

i just read one of the other posts and it says the zr1s actually are a half inch shallower on the back, so maybe i better get a deeper offset on the rears? or just have them custom made to the stock wheel offset...

you cant change the offset in the rear. the 17x11's with 315's. there is about a fingers width between the frame and tire.

the 18's with 275's are actually a little shorter than the 17 zr1 combo package, so you will have a slightly better ratio for the 1/4 mile time and slightly higher rpm at cruise. just do a search and you should see a post where bill had posted some good websites to find tire OD and we looked up stock, zr1, and zo6 diameters

thanks for the props on the truck, but as you can see, those offsets ride just about perfect with no spacers and minimal mods.
