I bought my truck on march 11, 02. Since then Ive spent over $3,500 :x by replacing stuff that the truck breaks, including a tranny rebuild. So far the only mods I've done to the truck are ATR wires and plugs, and 160 stat. ANd to make things worse I'm currently RWD because I have a leaky front diff and I don't want to F#$King break it TOO :x  !!

I just want to know if everybody here has gone thru this sh!t like me or am I just cursed??? I REALLY hope that santa is going to help me this chrismas so I can have my truck running normal for AT LEAST a month before something else breaks up... PLEASE guys PRAY for my me and my truck so I can acheive my dream!!! I only ask to have a healthy truck for 03...

BTW, I'll bust my ass on december so I can ATLEAST get datamaster, Walboro, AFPR, jabsco and an ATR exhaust.

Your truck isn't the only "cursed" truck, Mine 3 trannys,3 propshafts, new engine, new turbo, fuel pump, several misc stuff, attemted theft, garage busted front bumper. It has been good to me lately though  , so your not the only one.

I would say you need extra money to spend when you buy a syty, just seems like everybody puts money into them, but who drives there syty easy, i know when i get behind the wheel of the sy or ty i do my fair share of launching and 1/4 mile runs , so, parts dont last forever.

i would say your getting off cheap dude. I needed fuel pump, ignition, tranny, tires (I went for new rims too), ball joints, rear shocks.....oh, and the list goes on, all in all, I was close to $9000 in new parts and labor for fixing broken shit and things that just needed to be changed. I spent $3700 last month alone, so dont worry about it, your doing just fine :D

Welcome to the club.... Reason for the conception of this board along with the Mailing list... share technical information and help each other out because we have to... learn from one another and build relationships through experiences... ;) Unfortunately though I can say that I've shared some of your misfortune... First typhoon I bought the previous owner didn't take care of... and me being 18 and not knowing what to look for got taken for a very expensive ride... my sy right now needs some help to but I'm learning along the way... Only way to survive with these vehicles is to pick up and learn as you go...

My god...you guys are scaring me. Thankfully the Ty's in a garage in the middle of nowhere right now so **hopefully** nothing decides to "break" from now until spring.

I'm kind of glad to know I'm not the only one :drinking: . It's sad because sometimes I think I'll have to get rid of her... I'm 18 with a part time job and If it wouldn't be for the help of my parents I COULD NOT KEEP UP!!!! in the 8 months I've had the truck I've been paying monthly(adding all the stuff that the truck breaks to the monthly payment) :drumroll: $662 A MONTH!!! GEEZ! It sucks to think about it!!! and what hurts me the most is that I REALLY TAKE GOOD CARE OF HER!! Oh, I forgot to say that maybe I am cursed... The sy was not my DD, but as soon as the tranny went out, the DD's tranny went out too   !!! Leaving me without transportation for a month and with not 1, but 2 trannys to rebuild :drinking: and I still haven't got the money to rebuild the daily drivers tranny...

BTW, today as I got into the truck to go to college the truck wouldn't start   ! :banghead: :banghead: ::steamer: ::steamer: !!!!! I had to install a new battery... add $80 to my grandtotal :drinking:

Add me to the hosed-by-my-syty list. Had the thing about a month and I've already had to shell out $300 for new front gears, another $100 for installation. Still haven't found out why my front wheels aren't fully engaging (methinks transfer case woes are ahead). Propshaft boot is torn, carpet needs replaced cause the heater core took a leak on it, etc, etc....

I haven't spent nearly as much as you , sytyfreak, but I'm starting to feel your pain :-? Boy, I hate spending money on my cars when it doesn't make them any faster.
