Alcohol injection using washer bottle???

I was thinking about making my own Alcohol Injection kit using my washer fluid bottle, Rear washer fluid motor and a pedal mounted switch to activate,I just have a few questions 1st.
What kind of nozzle should I use and where should I install it for best results?
Do I need to regulate the amount of fluid,if so,how?
What fluid should I run and what concentration?
Thanks for any tips, trying to save a few bucks.

You need more pressure... stock washer pump will barely overcome the pressure in the manifold.

mcmaster.com has tons of nozzles. NOS fanspray nozzles with small pills work ok, also.
You can also meter the amount of alky with different pills.

Look into a shurflo pump for the pump. Use good braided line from the pump to the nozzle. Plastic line will be a fire, eventually.

Don't forget a filter somewhere in the system.

I bought a used alky control kit by razor and the reservoir had its plastic nipple broke, anyone know what is needed to fix it besides spending $85 for a new reservoir?

You mean where the pump draws from the tank?

Go look for bulkhead fittings, drill a hole in the tank, and you're back in business.

Last I checked, plastic tanks weren't $85..

On my SMC kit its a PITA to tune and thats with it being able to control the volume of flow and what boost it kicks in. Not having that control i think might be a problem :2cents:

heres a pic of the the little nipple that broke off on mine:

I'm thinking its only a 1/4 plastic barb so I'm assuming I could epoxy it then put in a new brass or plastic barb.

Drill it and stick a brass barb in there.

Like Ken said, it's a cheapie tank, just swap the level sender over.

save yourself the headache and buy a complete kit. You wont save much by piecing it together, and you wont have a progressive system.

A basic on/off system will not do much at all in terms of performance gains.

ditto. do it right and buy a real system.

Gotta agree with Mike and Waller. A good performing sysem that is safe AND reliable is a must and even if you buy a controler and build the rest of the system with high quaility parts you won't save that much. Now if you want to save money you will have to buy lower quaility parts and trust me... a system failure at 20 + psi and full throttle is not where you want to be. Is turning your engine into a ventilated boat anchor worth saving a few bucks?
