Great looking kit provided by Baer. Installed the touring kit. Quite a difference in braking. Feels more secure. Quicker. Put a chrome diff cover on too while at it! Should make a second or two quicker!

How's the e brake hookup?
And is your working?

Thx,

E brake sucks yo... actually parking brake to the rears.... not sure if this is what you meant.. makes a 2" drop with blocks not possible...

I've got 2" blocks on mine with the Baer rear disk kit. My ebrake (or parking brake) works fine. It really helps my truck from running away while it sits in the garage with no engine or tranny (your pick depending on the day). It wasn't the easiest thing to hook up though. Forgive me if I'm wrong, its been a while since I installed them, but there was some issue with the Baer cables mating to the stock cable.

really?? that's interesting.. Yngvar couldn't get the rear parking cable to work without modding.. neither could hunter when he installed my rear Baer setup... was due to the parking cable being level with the spring pack... said either 1.5" or 2.5" might work.. but not 2" .. I ended up giving my blocks to hunter so he could pass them on to Pete... He never did.. did you use AIM blocks with the built in pinion angle?? Reason this isn't an issue with the stock rear drums is because the parking cable comes out slightly them bends forward at a 90 degree angle...

Not sure what brand they are. I think they might be beltec. I'll double check this evening and measure them just to be sure. I'll take a pic or two while I'm at it. Like I said, I might be wrong. I can't remember, so I'm not 100% sure.

huh?? you lost me...
shocks shouldn't have anything to do with the parking cable or spring pack...since the axle is bolted to the spring pack itself... only thing that changes the distance relation between the two is if you add distance (ex. block) between them...

You have AIM brian..??

Not the shocks silly, the blocks. I think the blocks are made by beltec. I don't use aim. I guess I need to. I'm always on ICQ though.

Something I hadn't considered.. but just came to mind.. is that the Typhoon has extra spring leaf... not only that but the length of the pack could be shorter.. with less arch.... might be a possibility why the blocks worked with your typhoon.. and not with myself & Yngvar's syclones...

does Al Dustan II's kit lower the rear any, or the front. I know they use Eibach srpings, but what is the overall drop with it? Can lowering blocks be used in conjuction with the suspension kit.

Huh... that's weird... must be strictly a sy thing then... becasue I saw 2" blocks installed in the rear on my truck with my own eyes... and the parking cable was absolutely dead center level with the middle of the spring pack... no way hunter could install it the way the kit came...

3 pictures of my setup. 93 phoon. 2" blocks. rear baer kit. Blocks are made by bell tech. The parking cable is TIGHT to say the least. Probably not ideal, it rubs on the shocks, but has lasted thus far.

Is that your current setup? Blocks on top of wedges?

damn.. I didn't even notice that.. Pushing the axle forward instead of straight up.. not good..

Ok, I'm missing something here, what's wrong with the way the blocks are installed? All I did was add the blocks. The wedges were already there. I don't see how putting the wedge on top of the block would make a difference. The position of the axle would still be the same wouldn't it?
