Ac Idle Problem

Every time the compressor clutch engages the motor idles down to 400 rpm and just about stalls. Then the clutch disengages and it goes back to like 900. Any ideas what would cause this? Thanks

Re: Ac Idle Problem

First...I am not an A/C Expert.
Sounds like something clogging the orfice tube. (small filter in line located behind the accumulator - tall aluminum can next to your upper liquid intercooler) There is a fitting there and the orfice tube filter is in there a $3-4.00 piece. Remember to change it out you will have to recharge the system.
Is your AC Compressor making grinding noises? If so the comperssor may be on the way out and the metal shavings will clog up the orfice tube and the pressure has no where to go due to the tube being clogged.

Re: Ac Idle Problem

I just pulled the plug off the compressor, turned the AC on, and no change to the idle. I also am throwing a code 44. Lean O2. Could that be related or should I change the IAC anyway?

Re: Ac Idle Problem

What chip do you have?

If its a custom look/ask what rpm its set to idle at with the ac load on the motor. This will cause this.
