I see I got a lot of love around here, don't fear I still own a ty I have not left this gay pride group yet.

I am enjoying the newer ride (it is still 13 years old), but does have low miles, got 30mpg on hiway today and was a joy to drive. Nothing wrong with white ty per se, but it surely wasn't as comfortable or gas efficient on long trips as this new ride is.

I did see they dropped sale price to $6500 which I think is a good price for the truck for someone.

what car got 30 mpg that is 13 years old? C5's get about 26 on the highway.

My guess is a 6-speed FRC.

He was claiming a Mid Life Crisis.
He mentioned the 30 mpg highway. A 6-spd can do it on the highway if driven properly.
He is a preformance oriented guy and is into the driving challenge events. One of these will do that with ease.
What does it take to get a dealer to give you 5K on a high mileage TY that needs front end work (even though they did not check it out that closely but Jeff prob disclosed everything up front). He mentioned a few less miles. Not the easiest vehicle to get rid of right now so they make the deal. Could easily wholesale the Ty for the 5K and then some.

Thought about a HD for a moment but they get better mileage (upwards of 50), so that was a thought for a very brief moment.

Time will tell.

are you kidding? my old Celica got over 30 highway / 25-27ish city and it turned 19 years old this year. I dont really know why, but it always exceeded the EPA ratings during the 11 years I owned it.

30 MPG is so 15 years ago

I laugh at all these new commercials claiming how 30, 32, 35 mpg is soooooo great.

This guessing game is way too fun. I have not seen a 100% correct answer but someone has gotten damn close.

Agreed. I think he bought a 6 speed C5 Coupe due better aerodynamics Also what other 1999 Chevy would be at dealer, get 30mpg and be able to offer a 5k trade in on High mile Typhoon. 6 speed Corvette have been getting 30+ mpg for years on the highway, even C4 got that gas mileage if driven properly

Nice choice. My sister had one. I took it one weekend and got to 3rd base with my girlfriend.

It has been a few days since anyone showed Jeff some love in this so I'll take his bait with the hint.
German - nope. He claimed someone was very close but no one had mentioned anything German.
Convertible. Hmm... Camaro convertible with a 6-speed and a LS1.
Small 2 door with a rag. Back to the Cavalier.

OK Jeff, spill the beans.

I'll go for the Camaro. Going back to the theory of what does the dealer need to get rid of and takes the Ty in trade. Wrong time of year for Camaro Verts right now for dealers. Not seeing you in a 4 cyl Cavalier but hey, things change (first hand experience here).
