80e install, which ear

I am trying to remember which ear on the bell housing you have to cut off or grind on to get it to fit. Anyone know off top of their head?

should be the one at the very top of the bel housing.

No, you don't need to cut that top ear with the bolt hole in it off. You may need it if you ever go lsx!! Here's a pic of mine the ears on the side are trimmed. http://www.turbols6.com/gallery/TYPHOON-LSX-TURBO/aol

i remember that renz on the tranny he won at the nats from blake had on the trans to remove that ear. i have not done an 80e so i was just going off the reference that was on that trans.

you really don't need the top ear in a 4.3 or sb chevy, but the side ears are the important ones, Blake also did my trans.
