2011 bmw m3

The wife and I went out for a little fun tonight. We were cruising along and I pull up along side a new M3. We raced from about a 30 roll and I hung right there with him, even pulling away a little. He starts waving his hand out the window like I suck and cant hang. Funny thing is, he couldnt seem to pull away from me. So I catch him at a light and ask him if he wants to run for real. He says sure why not and and we go to "the spot".

When we get there he says he will count to 3 and then started counting right away. I was like WTF?!! So I got maybe 5psi and we went for it. He took off first and I got by him by about a fender, I mean, my front bumper was at his fender. It went this way almost the whole quarter mile. At the very end he left me at his back bumper.

So while we didnt physically win, I feel like chalking it up to that since we pretty much didnt launch. And he wanted to give us a head start:rotf:

I'm surprised you didn't ask him to run again, this time with you doing the count.

i live near a bmw factory, so there a lot of beamers arund.
there's no turbo on stock versions, but they make 400 bhp.
when choosing the "smg" option (sequential manual gearbox) you get a free launch control with it, so you don't need driving experience to do proper starts....

Test drove a 2011 M3 yesterday. Considering one for the wife. Nice car. For something that any schmo can drive off the dealers lot, it's impressive

414 HP Stock 8400 RPM redline. Reported to be "light" in BMW's claim of HP by numerous car magazines.

M3's are potent MF's. Not to be messed with unless you're ignorant, or want to get beat. Not to mention we're talking a stock M3 vs a highly modified Ty. M3's aren't the "slow" your making them out to be.

M3's are almost as fast as a new 5.0 Mustang. :rotf:

Highly modded? What do you mean? Wifes Ty is damn near stock. Never said they were slow either, just pretty sure we would have beat the guy had we launched. How about you bring your "buddies" M3 up here? I have better things to do than drive across the country racing plain jane bmw's

Re: 2011 bmw m3

For the record, altitude DOES affect SYTY's. The average running truck up here runs in the high 14's up here.

One thing some of you guys will NEVER seem to understand, there is NOTHING to "beware" of. For some of us, the race is about the race, not always being the best. If I lost a race, my pride is not affected and I don't feel stupid, less than, or anything else. I mean really, I don't get why so many people get pissy when someone has a decent outcome against a car that their "BUDDY" owns:rotf: I am a firm believer of run what ya brung, if the guy couldn't handle the car in a better manner that is his fault and **** him and HIS car. I could really care less. If I were out there to be able to say, I CAN BEAT EVERYONE, I more than likely would not race anyone in a SYTY. But if some hot head is giving me shit why back down? You talk about how things get boring, I like things to be exciting so I tend to make them that way. If the guy was driving a Lambo I would have raced him. I guess I just don't see what your point is or why the assumptions of my thoughts.

Now as far as what MY TY runs, it doesn't at the moment. It is still getting body work done. On another note, I don't personally care to even go to the track. Almost every time I go, something happens. Something bad. The wife's Ty has never been to the track. Mine has not been on the new build. So I have no clue what they run and I really don't care so much.

Re: 2011 bmw m3

Just curious what a Stock E92 M3 runs 60' & 0-60 MPH?

Can't go by mag times, for the average driver, most cannot run what the published times are of a car.

Like most guys cannot run what mag published times of sport bikes.

Most average street bike riders cannot run 60 ft 1.8 or faster & I don't need to hear about you guys that say they run 1.5 60 ft & run 9.5's on a stock bike the first time @ a track w/it.:rotf:

Peace out!

Not knowing what my truck runs at a track is like not knowing how much money I have in the bank. :squint:. It would also help make your kill stories a lot more believable.

I don't know why people have a hard time believing your stories. It gets a little old. Track times on syty's is nice, but a 12 sec (track)syty and a 12 sec(track) is not the same on the street.Almost EVERY other car/truck/suv/motorcycle/moped/bus is at a disadvantage on the street compared to us. We have unintelligent awd so much that it likes to kill our trans on regular basis. In other words we put power to the ground and make it stick pretty well.

Truckless. For now.

I've seen plenty of footage of Mike racing on the street (too much time and effort in trying to convert it to digital format. he's tried). He's got video of both wins and losses and is probably one of the most honest posters in regards to his kills.

Not everyone has the time/convenience to make it to the track.

Re: 2011 bmw m3

I actually did post some vids up here http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=73557&highlight=vids It took me a while just to figure these out. They arent the best of quality but none the less, about 1% of the racing I have done. I dont have a cam mounted anywhere, shame on me:lol:

I am sure if you spent the time you could match them up with actual threads. You know what has really always gotten me is that even when I post a loss people don't buy it:rotf: You guys are hilarious. I think people get the impression that I have something to prove so the more they can try and pick me apart and be condescending to me the more I will try to "prove". The reality is this, its all true my friends. Plain and simple. I have nothing to prove to anyone really, in fact, I post kills because I just enjoy doing the racing. Street racing in our town is a HUGE deal. People do it every night. Nearest tracks are about an hour away and I personally do not enjoy the tech inspection headache, driving for an hour to race 3-5 times and having problems I cant fix 75 miles away. Guess you can call me lazy:lol:

And also, I really just don't care what my truck(s) run, for me it is whoever crosses that line first.

Re: 2011 bmw m3

I do not have any doubt about his kill stories, most cars on the street cannot pull a 1.8 60' time. or 0-60 in under 5 seconds for that matter.

I do not drive a lot on the street but I have raced a few times & can say honestly I only lost one time on the street.
I raced 2 bikes @ the same time, a 2001 GSXR 1000 & a 2001 GSXR 750,I left them from the start (badly!) & it took them about 1/8th mile to pass me,& when they passed me it was alot faster than I was going.
So Mike, keep posting your kill stories, I like them & I believe you.
