11's in a Ty... Another whats it take?

I have searched but could only find things that talk about specific mods that don't pertain to my truck. So I just have a simple question.....

About how much wheel horse power does it take to run 11s in a Ty with no weight savings?

11.95? or 11.05?

I'd say 400whp high 11''s 500-600whp low 11's.

anywhere in the 11's would make me happy! So the Ty is at 460whp right now so I should be good? thanks :tup:

get it to launch worth a shit and you can hit well into the 11's with 450 or so.

That's what I like to hear. Ever since we got it, all I wanted it to do was run in the 11s.

My Stock Block, Splayed, stock Crank, Eagle rods, Je Pistons, Ported Vortecs, Stock Intake, Stock Thottle Body, BS3, Custom Headers, 3" exhaust, GT35R made about 600 to the crank and about 400 AWHP and we went 11.2 @ 118/119 MPH with Nitto Drag Radials All around. (on 18-19lbs of boost)

The only thing I like about that thing is it's brakes,

well and its color,

aaaaaaand maybe its motor, turbo, tranny, and rear end, but that's it :hitit:

Good to know but my Ty has an LS swap. Did you have traction issues before or did you just always use the DRs?

Nope I gutted the indicator when I pulled the console apart to try and resolve the shifter issue.

I know their is variation from dyno to dyno but I would think 460whp should get you in the around 120mph trap speed. I would think conservatively with some dialing in, it should do mid 11's.

Let me know if you want help messing with the shifter. My guess is that it's the cable mount on the tranny still. We can take the shifter out of the parts Ty if need be.

More than you think. But, assuming we get enough racers :lol: you should have plenty of runs to work out most of the bugs. :lol:

You gonna be around tonight, gotts get this shit fixed. Tired of forgetting to set the parking brake and it starts to roll away as soon as I get out :roll:
