I find it hard to believe that truck does 1/4 mile in 10sec with those bald ass tires. Like they say in Hollywood: Never let the truth come in the way of a good story!

It's a fact that bald tires give better dry traction than treaded ones. That's why slicks are slick. Tread is for water.

Bald steet tires don't help out any buddy. Slicks have a softer rubber and many other reason why they work way better for dry traction and even when a slick is worn down it looses traction, but a bald steet tire is not going to improve traction it will be more of a danger to drive on but thats about it. On special racing tires some due allow to be shaved for improved traction but again those are special racing tires designed for it not your reg every day street tire.

Most guys listing a 10 second or faster car for sale will put in at least a few details about the mods ect, my guess it doesn't run 10's but you never know. But a ty running 10's would prob have enough parts and what not to ask for a higher price then whats posted.

By your logic regarding bald tires, slicks should get "better" as they wear with age. :tdown:
(they have dimples to monitor tread depth and need VHT to grip)! Many years ago folks used
to run recapped tires thinking they were soft and sticky for traction (but bald is only cool
if your big, mean have several gold tooth caps)....doesnt matter if their radial or bias ply, they wont make you faster (just dead).
Tires can actually become "greasy" if heated too much and sidewalls can break down before tread depth on wrinkle walls. :2cents:

My syclone was the same way. It is from using drop blocks that are not custom to the truck aka autozone blocks ect. I am removing the ones that were on my truck to go back to stock and then do a 4-link latter on.
