Free to a good home - decals

Re: Free to a good home - decals I'm really sorry but y'all are going to have to negotiate with hatrik8 - they're his now. I figured there'd be a decent demand for them and I don't have the time to ship them out to a lot of different people. Jersey 91/93: I'll be bringing the GN to the...

Free to a good home - decals

Hi all, I owned a Typhoon about 4 years ago. At that time I had arranged to have decals made for the center caps of the ZR1 wheels. They came put pretty decent, but were a pain in the butt to remove from their backing paper without ripping them. I sold a few and stuffed the rest in a closet...

    TookyCat Update 2006-04-28

If you think it's been forever since you've been here, how about me? The thing says 2-26-2006 but I think it's been a lot longer. I sold the Typhoon back in 2002. I popped in to unload some decals I found while cleaning out a closet. Glad to see you're still in the game. I just couldn't...

    Yo!

Thanks for the invite Morgan. Maple Shade is a cool 100 miles for me - probably won't make it. If you guys get together farther up north definitely let me know. Thomas seemed a bit pissed at me about the vibe that the truck had, but otherwise seemed like he liked it. It's probably in Germany...

Thomas, Got your e-mails. Can't reply - keeps bouncing. I don't have the wheels anymore - sold them last weekend. Shoot me an e-mail and a way to get in touch. Jim

Anyone ever change their oil cooler lines?

Thanks for the help. If I need to do it, I'll let you know. The guy that bought it seemed a little concerned, but it's not like it's pouring out of the lines. They seep a little. No puddles or anything. The new owner's name is Thomas. If someone pops up by that name with a black/black...

New Camero SS with the LT1

<broken record> My brother's '99 Z28 ran a 13.3 @ 106 (hight 12 with traction) off the showroom floor on stock tires. Haven't run my dad's 99 SS yet, but it feels at least as strong. </broken record> You have to have a very strong running truck (if stock) to run with one. My bro slaps the...

Anyone ever change their oil cooler lines?

Looks like the ones from the adapter to the rad are easy - both just run under the air cleaner, right? If so, I asked the wrong question but you gave me the right answer. The right question is how do I replace the oil filter lines from the block to the filter? The cooler lines look easy. I...

Anyone ever change their oil cooler lines?

Thanks for the info. That's what I was looking for: what else I have to remove to get the lines out. The radiator isn't bad, PS lines might be a b*tch. With the inner fender pan I can get on the bolt on the oil pump with a long extenion, universal, short extension, universal, and the 13mm...

Anyone ever change their oil cooler lines?

The new GM ones are slightly different than the stock ones. I'm afraid that even if I can get the old ones out, that the new ones won't go back in. I don't want to have to drop the differential or lift the motor up. Thanks for the reply, Jim

Anyone ever change their oil cooler lines?

Looking for some advice as to how to do it. Have the inner fender off, it doesn't look like I'm much closer. Thanks, Jim

Beat a GN and a 5.slow at Irwindale drags 1/8 mile

I'd guess a mid-low 13. The only comparable timslips I have are from my GN (ironic, no?). For that ET in the 1/8 mile, I am on average 3-4 MPH faster (proving the importance of the AWD launch). If I look at timeslips with the same MPH, though, they're mid-low 13s (13.3-13.5). That guy in the...

I blew this tranny guy's mind

I don't have any experience having the Ty trans worked on, but take it from me.....look HARD for a *real* specialist. I took my GN to a guy whose brother's girlfriend's cousin's stepdad had seen a GN once so he knew all about them. After dropping $1,500 with the guy (multiple trips to the...

Why do people ask if I have a REAL Typhoon?

The local GMC dealer replaced my motor mounts. When asked what it was, I said "Typhoon". He said, "2WD", I said "no, AWD". He said, "ok 4WD". I said, "no, AWD". He said, "ummm, okay (in his best you don't know what the hell you're talking about but I'll humor you tone)". Quoted me a price...

    Totaled Typhoon

That's what he gets for putting those silly fake duals on it. Whatever he hit didn't give much. Never seen a roof buckle quite like that. Jim

    Overboost - why?

Okay - I think I'm convinced it's a sticky wastegate. It's only doing it after some hard driving or a lot of highspeed driving - i.e., when things are hot. There's a decent amount of carbon around the shaft - could be interfering when it's hot. And, the cruise has gotten weird. It's surging...
