Truckin' Magazine January Issue Page 246...

Re: Truckin' Magazine January Issue Page 246... I've got subs to GM High Tech, Turbo and I just picked up a copy of Hot Rod's Engine magazine which was really insightful. If the next issue of Engine is as good as this current one I may subscribe to it also. S.

    Mitsu VR4

Re: Mitsu VR4 I like the look of them and the fact that they are AWD but the fact that there are so few of them really tuned indicates to me that either they are too expensive to work on or the after market for them is not all that great. I found this one on cardomain and it's the nicest...

    Advice on Possible Head Replacement

Re: Advice on Possible Head Replacement Thanks bro, this is exactly what I'm looking for. BTW, do you have any idea about how long these motors will last before a rebuild is needed? I know some GM products can be pretty long lived but I don't know about the 4.3 Tubos. My old 2.8 V6 had 274K...

    Advice on Possible Head Replacement

Ok so some of you read my thread about the Ty smoking when I let out of the throttle a while back. Turns out it was not an oil leaking into the turbo issue like I'd hoped but rather valve and valve seating problems. The Ty has 170K on it so I'm wondering if it which route to take financially...

Saw a Ty in a Supra video...

Re: Saw a Ty in a Supra video... Damned if that isn't some of the worst driving I've ever had the misfortune of baring witness to. That Supra should have mauled most of those cars. Providing of course it had a driver behind the wheel instead of a nob with a pocket full of cash. S.

Favorite SyTy Pics that arent yours.

Re: Favorite SyTy Pics that arent yours. Just checked out Mr. Blaas's site and I have to say that's probably the hottest looking Ty I've ever seen. Judging by the stock width wheels it appears to be mostly stock but it still looks fantastic. Now I'm wondering approximatly how much body mods...

How did you first learn about syty's?

Re: How did you first learn about syty's? I hadn't actually ever heard of them until I saw a Ty in the window of a GMC dealership here in Seattle. That dealership is long gone now but it had a Blue and Grey Ty in the window. I of course had no idea how rare the blue/grey's were as it was the...

    Intersection Car Show in Renton

Re: Intersection Car Show in Renton The car show thing was just a joke. It was at a busy intersection and all 4 of those vehicles were at that intersection at the same time. It just struck me as unusual since all 4 of them are very rare rides and all. The Ty was the closest to me but the way...

Bob Galla`s Ty in GMHTP Mag for Jan

Re: Bob Galla`s Ty in GMHTP Mag for Jan I noticed before I had my sub that when B&N gets them in they only have 4 or 5 issues. Not like Road & Track which they have two sometimes three rows of. S.

    Intersection Car Show in Renton

Yesterday I was sitting at this 5 point intersection in Renton by the Fred Meyer when I found myself in the midst of a GM power block car show or something. First car I saw was a Black Grand National with a blonde behind the wheel, a few cars behind her and in the other lane was an orange with...

Bob Galla`s Ty in GMHTP Mag for Jan

Re: Bob Galla`s Ty in GMHTP Mag for Jan My favorite part about this whole article is the fact that I actually got the magazine before it hit the stands this time!!! WhoooHoooo!!!! Bob's Ty is pretty damned nice. Clean as Gynecologists office from the look of the pics. That engine bay looks...

    Chariots With Fire?

Re: Chariots With Fire? They quoted 14.3 @ 97.6 for the SS. They railed on it the worst for being a poor handler in comparison to the others and for being the only one with rear drive only (AWD is an option) on the SS I guess. S.

    Chariots With Fire?

Did anyone catch Road & Tracks Nov. 06 issue with the super SUV shoot out? They had the Porsche Cayenne Turbo, Cherokee SRT8, BMW X5, Tahoo SS, Infinity X45 and that supercharged Land Rover. The new Cayenne Turbo S and Benz M63 AMG weren't available for testing yet. So anyway it was your basic...

    Mitsu VR4

Re: Mitsu VR4 I think they are transverse because the majority of them were front drivers. I'm pretty sure they were built on the same chassis as the Eclipse/Talon which also came in a turbo charged transverse configuration with AWD. S.

    Black Ty in South Seattle

Friday morning I saw a nice black Typhoon turning on to Rainier avenue from Seward Park Drive. I waved and he waved back. Anyone here fit that bill? S.
