Thanks! I just ordered the Moates cable you mentioned. I still have an RS232-based cable from Datamaster, but I would like to use this on newer laptops. We were having a discussion on the same subject in a SyTy Facebook group, one of the guys had previously figured out a hack to get Datamaster...

I emailed TTS and they don't support DM at all any more. I forgot that I knew Steve Cole (TTS owner) from diesel racing. LOL, still didn't do me any good though as he doesn't support it any more.

Re: Trans Removal I did mine before on jack stands, but as mentioned above it required sliding the trans off of the trans jack to get it out from under the truck. I hope my Harbor Freight trans jack survives another use, it spit some ball bearings out of its mechanism last time I used it!

Re: White Ty - I5 Oregon I occasionally see a white one (I drive a LOT during the summer going to drag races). My black Ty has been sitting for almost 2 years now (slipping trans).

Re: Trans Build Recommendations Thanks for the info! The same GM dealer that did the rebuild did the diagnosis, but I don't think they pulled anything apart (just drove it and measured pressures). Interesting about 4th gear not being affected. I was planning to R&R it myself (again...) and...

Re: Ty for parts Do you still have the transmission? Is it the factory trans (making sure it is a true Ty trans and not a generic 700R4)? How many miles on it? Any idea how much to ship to 97086 (yeah, I know it's diagonally across the country)!
