Re: Howdy, new guy with a 383 powered 85 blazer
Oh sorry . It was probably a 92 then. I hate to make you guys cringe, but he crashed/totalled the truck out shortly after purchasing it (he was 21 or so at the time), and the poor wrecked remains of that little Typhoon sat sadly on his front...
Re: Got a response from Melling Oil Pump break...
Heres the size difference between the M-55 A and the M-55 HV :
Looks a bit stronger and it pumps out a higher volume of oil. But i dont know..... I'm still scared to use it .
Found the site through V8s10.org user "GMCturbo" gave me the link here .
I dont own a Typhoon, but they're the reason i love s-10 blazers, i've been in love with them since i was a kid.
There used to be a guy in the neighborhood with a white 91 Typhoon. It was my first time ever...
Re: Got a response from Melling Oil Pump break...
No, i haven't contacted Meiling. Other than this thread (which i was directed to by GMCturbo on V8s-10.org) the only other person that has had this problem was a local racer named Ed Wright, apparently the same thing happend to his 10.0 second...

And to make matters worse, i decided to go with a Moroso bluprinted HV oil pump. And guess what, IT TURNED OUT TO BE A MEILING m55-hv .
Bearing material all throughout the motor :

Howdy, new guy here.
Thought i'd chime in here. I have an 85 blazer with a 383 stroker, and i too have been a victim of meillings cheap castings.
I'm still rebuilding the motor that selfdestructed due to a broke in half meiling oil...
