    2wd vs. 4wd frames

Re: 2wd vs. 4wd frames in my opinion AWD is worth it, but where i live you need 4wd or AWD to get around in the winter. if you plan on building the engine up i'd go for the AWD, if not then just leave it be. or if you go offroading then swap 4wd back in (or replace the broken pieces to...

    Front Diff ?

Re: Front Diff ? if you get a 4x4 diff you'll need to change the passenger side axle shaft, axle tube and pinion flange. you'll also need a propshaft (if you didn't get one).

rear differential - pinion shaft removal

the retainer bolt may have broken, how long was it when you removed it? it should be almost 2" (iirc) try to use a magnet and pull it out, if not you can try using a pick or something to spin it out (usually there is at least one thread left on it) and then use a magnet to pull it out. if that...

    Need AWD conversion advice

the t-case can be sourced from a syty, bravada or astro/safari. there are two different ones, the 1372 (with a 27 spline rear output) and the 4472 (with a 32 spline rear output). other than that there is no difference. the propshaft can be from a syty or bravada, the bravada piece is said to...

    front differential

have you tried jacking up a front tire, spinning the tire then pulling the cable? usually you can't engage the front axle but just pulling the cable, the tires need to be turning at least a little bit. i still think it's vacuum related, i've owned several 4x4 s-10's and blazers with varying...

    Front End Replacements

they're the same as 4x4 s-10 pickups/blazers and their variants (s-15, sonoma, jimmy and bravada). i haven't looked at astro parts but i seriously doubt they're the same. if you want to keep the stock arms you can go with urethane bushings and moog balljoints and tierod ends. or you can spring...

broke an axle on launch at atco tonite.... pretty scary

moser makes axles for 2wd s-10's so they should/could make some in 4wd length. the 8.5 is a bear to find, one guy on s-seriesforum looked for so long that he gave up and bought one over the counter from GM. something like $1400 that way.

    front differential

what do you mean by you have vacuum? do you have vacuum coming from the switch on the t-case? or do you have vacuum going to the switch? if you have vacuum coming from the switch then check your lines for leaks and check the actuator for leaks or tears. if that checks out then the problem is...

TH400 output shaft for out T-case

the np207/np231 adapter has the same bolt pattern but the t-case position is clocked so that the driver side is higher. on this forum i've heard that using that adapter will make the t-case hit the floor, i just pulled the t-case from my Bravada and i'd agree with that. things may be different...
