how is everyone? I'm not quite a "member" yet, though I will be soon. I have browsed all the boards related to the syty, I am a little disappointed that there isn't a sticky page or site dedicated to things like specific rebuilds, replacements, and upgrades. I mean there is a lot of info. but it's all scattered throughout the different boards. some maybe asking, "what is it I'm looking for or talking about". As a member of the starquest community which is small like syty if not smaller, we have a board dedicated to repairs and upgrades that work. this board is like a step by step with picks for repairs and give part #'s as well as descriptions on upgradeable parts. some of these parts are store bought and some come from other make and model cars; also with a step by step on how or what to do to install or retrofit. maybe you guys have a site or page like that and I haven't found it yet. But I have come across some things through browsing such as the steering rod replacement with a jeep item. Can't remember where I saw this at and it didn't really speak on the pros and cons of this item compared to the stock part. Unless you are searching for this specifically, you may never find. but for someone like me who plans to pull the drive train with the intentions of restoring the truck, this info. would be best suited in a sticky along with other info related to rebuilding,repairing, etc. A sticky like that is actually the first thing i looked for entering this site. But again, maybe this has already been done and I'm not looking in the right place. Anyway, I definitely can't wait to get intop this. Right now I am preoccupied with the rebuild of my conquest. But as soon as that is out the way, syty will be on my list. I've always liked the truck. as a 16 year old, I used to pass by the dealer everyday on the bus and 2 typhoons would be out on the lot. At the age, my dream cars were the typhoon and the 3000gt vr4. figure that! both v6's,turbo, and allwheel drive. I already have a car that will be a beast once finished. It's only proper to get something with more room that will be just as stout. I was originally thinking on getting the srt8 jeep, but then I remembered the ty and wanted some info. I always new they were potent trucks but to be able to reprogram the ecu really got me thinking. I'm not looking to race it nor am I looking to show it off. It will be a "most" day driver and there are times I want to get in it. Anyway, I'm running off at the mouth. BTW, is there a page dedicated specifically to the ecu's capabilities? such as things you can do with it. like the 1g eprom for mitsubishi.
