Turbo Rebuilder in the NE

My "new" turbo needs rebuilt, has alot of shaft play.

I'm not gonna attempt to do it myself with a kit, i'd rather send it to someone.

Who in the northeast rebuilds turbos?

how much play? in and out or side to side? Some side to side is going to be ok because there is no oil pressure going thru the turbo.

I only use Limitengineering.com out of AZ.

He rebuilt my Garrett and its about 2 years old feels like new still.

Maybe like $500-600 bucks to rebuild, maybe a bit more but not sure. My GT35R was about 900 to rebuild but this has a complete center cartridge that he had to replace.

Rebuild kit is about 200-300 bucks.

looking at a couple diagrams, i think i can handle this. just a matter fo finding a kit now.

why would a turbo thats never been run, have play in it? only one to blame is myself, i should've checked it when i bought it, instead of now.

i've been told that it should have a little play due to no oil pressure. that makes sense, anyone agree?

A little side to side is ok long as it isnt rubbing.

If there is any IN / OUT (axial) when you grab the shaft, it is done.

I don't think I would attempt this myself. Doesn't it have to be balanced. For that kind of money, I would leave it to an expert.

i'm gonna take it to the local turbo shop tomorrow, and have them evaluate it.

i'll wont make a decision until its running.
