Re: Many Thanks.....

The saga continues.....after Cloneman315 recognized that the seventh plug wire didnt make my truck go any faster, we were able to get to the real problems :rotf: . With the right injectors, good plug wires with new cap and rotor, adjusting the fuel pressure and verifying the timing, I now have a real Typhoon with steady idle. I have the boost valve closed and wont boost her until I get a wb. The datamaster showed a code 42 so I replaced the ignition control module and the idle hunting ceased. I have new plugs which wil get installed soon. Thanks again for helping me get on the right track. A DM 100 is in the works for me as well as alky injection( in the far future) and I can't wait!! Its glad to have hope again....

Re: Many Thanks.....

Glad to hear that your Ty is running well! I need to get mine looked at by someone knowledgeable about Sy/Ty engines as well... Mine can sometimes have a crappy idle and VERY RARELY even stall out, and it has new UR6's, Duralast Wires, MSD Cap & Rotor, 10w30 Mobil 1, I always use Shell's V-Power... ... confuses the hell out of me.... Too bad I'm all the way up in Jersey though....

Best of luck to you with your truck!

Been using a Craftsman plug socket for almost ten years no with no problems:

"Craftsman #43322 ($9.99) 5/8" swivel spark plug socket in action on plug #3."

Looking at your sig.....T3 20psi=12.4 @ 107 stock motor, stock turbo, & Blake built 700-R4. Now stealth induced w/ custom chip... Did you achieve this without alky? Thats my goal with my truck; low 12s without breaking her. My biggest problem right now is staying out of boost. I have been warned on more than one occasion not to boost her and its hard. Being denied a Ty for so long is torture.....

My best ET with stock turbo was done alcohol free

. I *thought* about going deeper into the 12's with the stock turbo with alcohol but I didn't see the point of beating on my truck to do it. It should be noted that it was not achieved on pump gas alone but was augmented with xylene (paint thinner) to run the higher timing and boost without detonation. Besides, running mid 12's with the stock turbo and a stock motor that has never had the valve covers off isn't to shabby. I have an old school non progressive SMC setup that I will be using from here out though once I find a place to mount that huge flippin' bottle

Re: Many Thanks.....

Well, the thing is, the spark plugs I'm guessing don't need to be changed since they were just changed 2 months ago... how often do I have to change these things lol.... If I gotta buy brand new UR6's every two months, that'l be a real pain in the ass lol
