It seems like every little thing I touch on my Sy leads this week to another problem. My wife went away to conference for 3 days. I figured I would put a little time in on my Sy while she is gone.
Monday, I decide to remove my flywheel from my motor. On the first bolt I mix up 9/16-14mm. I round off the edge, my fault. I got out and borrow a impact wrench to get the bolt out. I need to buy a set of bolts (ARP are only $13) 2 hours later I am done.
Yesterday, I decide to put the studs out of exhaust manifold. (I need to remove them to put on the PTE turbo). One them starts to strip, just great. I go out and get a die and tap set, I think I have mangage to salvage the thread enough, that I will just need to get a longer bolt for those thread (the first thread thread a little worn, the back three or so look fine) A good 2.5 hours later I have 4 studs out.
Today I get a call from the rim place. Before I got laid off I put in place to get my stock rims and center caps refinished. I want a mint set of stock rims. My first 2 center caps are coming out 'hazy' and they stopped, they were trying to talk me into just having the rims done. No way, what I am going to do with mint rims and a difficult to find mint center caps. I am undecide what to do. I am almost leaning towards, telling them to give me what they have done and stop the process (and addition costs) of them F-ing up my center caps, which weren't that bad to begin with. I am waiting for the guy doing the machine to call me back to decide.
I was going to go out in the garage again today (wife comes back tonight), but I think I might skip it or I might just wash/clean daily driver
