My Typhoon is finnally back from the paint shop - pics inside

Well i am very happy with the job the shop did, and despite all the negativity i got in the paint forum, the cladding looks very good for being painted on the truck. If you dont like the way it looks, id rather you just not comment because so far i am not very impressed with alot of the people on this forums negative responses on the topic. I am a relatively new member of the forum but i have been dealing in cars my whole life and have alot of cool rides.

I would like to say thanks to Mike Renz for the big help and advice getting the cladding lined up.

Anyways, here it is keep in mind i just got it back today and havent had a chance to fully detail it out...

Looks good in the pics! It looks like you are running spacers for your ZR1s in the front and the rear, true?

Looks good. My sy has painted cladding and I wouldn't want it any other way.

no spacers, direct bolt on. Cladding looks good where it meets, the did some reinforcements to the front bumper cover to keep it in place. ill try to take some pics tommorow for ya renz. and chelo, i was referring to the cladding being painted while bolted onto the vehicle, which i got slammed for in the other forum and i wasnt too happy about it, but whatever.

Don't worry about the guys talking smack. Once they see the finished product. Everyone will agree it looks good. They just want the syty's to look good. Many newbies come on this board for advise and turn around and do the complete opposite. Don't take it too seriously.
Out of all the forums that I frequent. This one tends to be one of my favorites. As you start hangin out more. You'll find out how helpfull this group can be.

Re: My Typhoon is finnally back from the paint shop - pics inside

you misunderstood what we were saying in the other thread...

Everytime i've personally seen a truck painted with the cladding ON the truck, it has cracked around the edges of the cladding and the body, where they meet. The cladding moves whether it be because of wind or the fact that it is plastic and expands/contracts.

Painting the cladding looks great, as long as it is painted seperate from the truck and THEN installed it won't cause any cracking.

The paint job looks great, no negativity on the quality of the work, just the FACT that any shop should realize that the cladding will move over time and cause the paint to crack. We are a very honest group, and honestly the paint shop should have painted the cladding and the truck seperately, then installed the cladding on the truck and line it up.

oh yeah

the hoods a 3 inch, bought it on ebay. paint job would have normally been $2500. but i send a ton of business there way so it only costed me 1400$ plus some parts like new turn signals, tail lights and emblems. that price included all the body work, pulling the front out from wehre it was hit, painting the cowl and original hood, all the jams, base coat clear coat. They spent 3 days buffing it and it shows.
