Buick Turbo and SyTy Turbo?

Are they the same design? I'm taking the TE-44 off my Buick this month to upgrade to a 70 and I'm going to pick up the Typhoon end of this month.....If they Buick and the Typhoon take the same design (if I am that lucky lol) I'll just keep the TE-44 around as a backup for both...

Thanks,

Re: Buick Turbo and SyTy Turbo?

To the best of my knowledge you will need a 3-4 bolt adapter for the turbine housing to fit the te-44 on the typhoon. I have a te-44 on my syclone and im not 100% but i think its just a buick turbo with that adapter. The down pipe flange design is the same for buick / syty. someone correct me if im wrong.

well kind of right. i have a te-xx and it fits on the ty with a 3/4 adp but the exhaust bolts for the pte dp is not the same, 2 are and 2 are off kind of. it can be fixed by drilling the holes bigger and using a washer but i know for sure it will bolt up to a atr dp. i thought they had the same bolt pattern but i know for sure this turbo does not.

The clunky 3-4 adapter for buick will work as Raist103 has mention but it is not the preferred turbo method. PTE has had it own specific syty exhuast housing since 2001.

As I said, I wasn't asking necessarily because I wanted to put one on there now or permanently. I was gonna keep my TE-44 as a just-in-case for both vehicles :)
