E-fan Wiring ?

For those of you running E-fan(s) w/ a rear-mount battery, did you pull your main power lead all the way from the battery? If so, any probs? I'm concerned about the current loss over that distance. Thought about using the "hot" (2 post) junction block on the firewall, but I've already got a fair amount coming off of it; same goes for the back of the alternator.

Advice/suggestions?

Re: E-fan Wiring ?

i HAVE 1/0 GAUGE COMING/GOING TO THE BATTERY FROM THE ALT, AND 4 GAUGE FROM THE BATTERY TO THE STARTER, I STILL HAVE THE FACTORY WIRING HOOKED UP TO THE ALT TO THE FIREWALL, BUT I ALSO HAVE A DIST BLOCK THAT I RUN ALL OTHER POWER WIRES I NEED TO. THE DIST BLOCK IS FED BY A 1/0 GAUGE WIRE OFF THE ALT.

i WOULDNT WORRY ABOUT CURRENT LOSS IF YOU USE QUALITY WIRE AND MAKE SURE TO USE WIRE BIGGER THAN YOU WOULD NORMALLY USE, LIKE MY 1/0 GAUGE.

sy2675's got it right, use at least #2 for a stock system with a rear mount or 1/0 with a high amp alt. and you won't have any loss from resistance or over heat / burned wire and fuse problems . I use 1/0, two rear mount batteries, 200 amp. alt. w/ 200 amp fuse and run remote terminals in the engine compartment.
