TCI Pan w/o bolts??

I got a new TCI pan without the bolts and washers that come with it. Does anyone know if you can use the stock bolts or should I get the bolts and washers that I'm supposed to have?

You got the cast aluminum TCI pan? If so the stock bolts are too short to work so youll need longer bolts (least the stockers were too short to use on my truck).

Damn. I guess I'll make a trip to the hardware store or a call to TCI.

Just be sure to get metric bolts...7mm I think :dunno: .

BTW/FWIW the holes arent drilled in the most perfect manner in the TCI pan so start all of the bolts a few threads before tightening any of them. If youre running the cast TC cover you may have to grind the front edge of the pan so it will clear the cover. I dont run the cover so it didnt bother me any but Mike C. (SY2932 on here) did a write up about what mods are needed to run the TCI pan and the cast TC cover.

Call up TCI and make them ship you the hardware that was supposed to come with the pan.

I thought of that, but I got it off ebay.

Would that be a stock TC cover? As far as I know it is stock

They'll still get them for you and probably cheaper than buying bolts, washers and all of that separately. Some of their pans require an extension for the filter too. See if you need that as well.

Yes I did:

"Cast TCI transmission pan, holds two additional quarts. Filter is supported by the four pins cast in the bottom of the pan. Front of pan *may* have to be trimmed to clear TC inspection plate (mine did)."

I'm still at work but I can get you the bolt dimensions when I get home shortly since I went to stainless steel socket heads on mine...

Re: TCI Pan w/o bolts??

Ok bolt size is going to be M8 X 1.25 X 25MM long (stock bolts are 19 MM long) and you are going to need 16 of them total. Socket head screws in this size use a 6MM hex key. Cap screws will require a 13MM but a 1/2" which is 12.7 MM, is a better/tighter fit.

Also, be sure to run a use a LEGIT GASKET with this pan or else you run the risk of the two screws of either side of the pump bottoming out on the pump boss. This will result in a leak towards the front of the pan. Shaving off an 1/8" of these two bolts will cure this if it's a problem.

Re: TCI Pan w/o bolts??

Put the pan on this weekend. That was a pain!

First I made a mess. Because the stock pan has no drain plug.
Second I broke the o ring that is on the new stock filter so I had to go to the store and get another filter.
Third I had to grind and grind and grind the front of the TCI pan to get it to line up in the front. Just like you guys said!
So it's finally in. I used a nice rubber gasket that I got with the replacement filter, a TCI filter, a summit remote filter under the battery tray. Nice stock look. Replaced all my old hoses that were going to my transmission cooler. Now I just need to torque the bolts down (8 ft lbs I read on another thread?) and make sure I have no leaks.

rubber gasket will mostly leak very soon(wil never stay tight). you should have used duraprene.

Re: TCI Pan w/o bolts??

What is duraprene? I ended up with three different gaskets. One came with the pan and didn't look in great condition. The second came with the TCI filter and was packaged all folded up and the third (rubber?) was with the replacement filter I had to buy for the o ring. I used a light coating of gasket maker to stick the gasket to the pan. Should I put a different gasket in there before I add fluid?
