Am I retarded? This thing is very complexlooking to me. I read through the instructions and dont get it at all. Well, maybe half. If I put the gauge (XD16) in my pilar pod, what do I do with the stereo jacks? For now that is all. I cant install it all today unfortunately. Im sure Ill have more questions soon though. TIA for anyone whjo helps out.

i know one stereo jack is for the programming (IE..serial in). i don't have gauges but doesn't the remaining plug go to the xd16?

after looking at the xd-16 manual, it shows the LC-1/LM-1 serial "out" going to the XD-16 serial 'In"

I have the same unit on my truck. The instructions are pretty good once you read them about 4 times. Let me know if I can help. Lee

Dude you can help out for sure. Ive read them a few times and it even leaves some wires out, well, one really. I just mounted it all into the pod, my OIL, FUEL PRESS, and the AFR. The XD16 IS the gauge isnt it? Im going to get to work on putting the LC1 and the sensor all together this weekend. I went ahead and put a hole in the pod down towards the bottom to let the jacks hangout. You cant really even notice them unless you are looking for them.

Re: Got my WB today and holy cow!!

The cable with the kit goes to the "in" jack on the gauge and the other end hooks to the "out" jack on the LC-1. Insert the terminator plug in the "in" jack of the LC-1. The red wires from each unit goes to switched 12V power. The blue, white, and green wire from the LC-1 are your grounds but separate the blue wire away from the others. The yellow, brown and black wires from the LC-1 are not used. The black wire from the gauge also needs to be grounded. Thats it for the wiring. Hope this helps, Lee.

Where is everyone usually mounting the sensor? I was thinking a foot or so after the stock o2.

Re: Got my WB today and holy cow!!

Most people these days are using the WB to replace the stock o2. Here is what you do with your LC-1
Connect the 12v (red) to a switched 12v source ( I used the IGN in the fuse block). Connect the Blue heater ground and white system to a chassis ground seperate from the analog ground. Analog 1 (yellow) goes to the factory O2 sensor signal wire. analog ground (green) to pin B9. Then run Analog 2 (brown) to pin F14. This way you have a narrow and a wideband all in one on your truck then to make use of it use Dig's patch on your bin that way the afr shows up when datalogging besides on your gauge

BTW, I forgot to ask, how reliable (longevity wise ), is the sensor itself? Do I need to make it to where I can plug the stock o2 back in at any given time? I hate being stranded you know, and I go on a lot of out town trips with the TY.

I have dual o2's on my ty, with the wideband about 2" behind and roughly 10 degrees counterclockwise of the stock o2 location (this on a 3" dp to clear the A/C box) ... if I'd known about this before I would have only done the one sensor

Re: Got my WB today and holy cow!!

Is the stock location suitable for the WB sensor? Also, the instructions dont really clarify what clean air is. Are they just saying after its been sitting around awhile to give the gases and what not time to exit? Or are they saying it should be out of its bung and in open air? Im assuming they mean free of gases.

Re: Got my WB today and holy cow!!

my instructions said best way is to pull out o2.
alternative is to have vehicle off for min of 8 hrs and calibrate while still installed.
lots of guys have it in thier stock location.

Re: Got my WB today and holy cow!!

Ive been looking at it all and install wise its all making sense to me now. Only question I have at this point is; pin B9 and F14, what color are they and what do they go to? Are they pretty much the wiring harness to the stock o2? If so, can I just tie in there? If they re not to the stock o2 harness, is it ok to go 3way with them to avoid chopping up the harness or should htey be totally cut off from what evger they were running to before?

Re: Got my WB today and holy cow!!

I have the LM-1 but have not connected the ground from the analogue output for the sumulated narrowband.

I get intermittent CELs and have a code 13 all the time. Could this be the cause?
