4.3L, bored .020 over, BRC pistons, Eagle H beam rods, balanced/blueprinted, 4 bolt mains, windage tray, ARP studs, Comp. Cams #422 hydraulic roller with 1.5 roller rockers, guide plates and hardened pushrods. New late model Vortec heads with 1.60 exhaust valve, ARP studs and late model Vortec valve covers. Edelbrock 2114 Vortec intake manifold with custom made intake plenum, 1000 CFM throttle body and remote IAC. Large water to air Intercooler, large aluminium heat exchanger, high volume pump. TE63 turbo with 4" inlet/filter and PTE 4 bolt turbine housing (.92AR) Tial external wastegate controlled by an HKS electronic boost controller. Exhaust is ATR stainless headers, with 3" stainless pipe and dual mufflers. 75LB fuel injectors fed by aluminium fuel rails with Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and gauge, -8AN fuel line, Aeromotive prefilter and high volume Bendex fuel pump. Return fuel line is -6AN. Truck has a second fuel system with aluminium 3 gallon fuel cell in pickup bed, and it's own Aeromotive pre-filter and high volume Bendex fuel pump. Both fuel systems share a Mallory spin on fuel filter. Fuel sytems and return are controlled from the cockpit. A custom made large aluminium radiator enclosed in a custom made aluminium shroud with twin 13 inch Spal draw thru fans. Stainless lines with AN fittings throughout the vehicle (water/fuel/oil)...... including the existing air conditioning lines. The AC does work. Spark is provided by a CraneHi6 CD unit and coil. Plug wires are large Taylor Thundervolt 50's. Battery is an Optima red, mounted in the pickup bed and a master shutoff switch on the back bumper. Truck has progressive alcohol injection system with 1 gallon tank.

Engine management is via FAST, and comes with laptop computer and wideband 02 sensor. Programs are STREET, RACEGAS, and EMISSIONS.

Transmission is a "real Art Carr" with many expensive billet parts inside, and a 2800 lockup converter. Heavy duty finned aluminium tranny pan. B&M tranny coolers. Front and rear prop shaft loops. A 3000 stall Art Carr non lockup TC goes with truck also.

The interior is light grey leather seating and side panels, with the drivers side being electric, light grey dashmat.

Truck has front and rear sway bars. Cal-trac bars, heavy duty aluminium rear differential cover with bearing cap support studs. KYB shocks front and rear. The rear is lowered, and has twin airbags. Wheels are stock aluminium, but have been intentionally dulled. Tires are BFG radial TA's, 265-50-16's...... spare wheel/tire mounted in the pickup bed (stock dull wheel and 265-50-16). Truck has run 11.47 at 119 mph on street boost setting..... 18 psi on pump gas and alky injection. It will go faster, but there are no roll bars in the vehicle. Truck has a trick cowl hood with louvers. Odometer shows 83K, but engine/tranny have NO where near that. Truck looks good, but is not a trailer queen. Only raced yearly at local Turbo Thunder events. Original Syclone upper/lower intake, hood and three more stock aluminium wheels go with the truck (counting spare that's two full front/rear sets).

I'm really thinking that I should leave mine pretty much alone... just the reliability mods, then get another that I can experiment going fast with.... this one appears to have a good head start on some nice parts!

I wouldn't be afraid of driving it to Wyoming now that gas prices are down =) Only area of concern is intake filter sits outside engine compartment in front of tire and just noses out from under front bumper.... a puddle could potentially hydraulic motor. Truck was originally daily driver when new, so I emphasize that it is not a showtruck. Further questions, email me direct rolandbe@comcast.net

I replaced the console center section with a piece of Lexan (black plastic) and installed toggle switches and a couple gauges. So, I used a plastic coffee cup holder found at most auto supply places that hooks onto the door.... I cut the hook off and used an existing screw on the back panel. It is a slightly awkward location, but it works.

With the lack of interest so far, let me run this by you folks.

My reasons for wanting to sell the Sy are many..... mainly financial, lack of use, cost of insurance yearly while it sits in the garage under cover. As an example, other than when I removed the cover and backed it out of the garage for some pictures today (June) it hasn't been driven since I had to pass emissions to get tabs in February (5 months). My summer usage is slightly more, but not much. I have a 93 Ty as my daily driver, and have a local friend who wishes to purchase it.

I'm looking to sell both, and then purchase a two seat roadster of some sort. Guess I'm trying to get my youth back or something, but I want one vehicle to insure, wash/wax and worry about and drive and I want the top to go down on whatever that vehicle ends up being. Therefore, do any of you SyTy'rs out there (or wanna bes) have a roadster that they want to trade? Keep in mind, I believe my truck to be in good shape and will not accept any less in a trade, plus it MUST be a vehicle I would be enthused about. It also must be winterized (windows/top/heater). I don't know if I want a used Solstice or an older Austin Healey replica with a V8. I do know that an SLK350 would be nice =)

I don't really think this idea is going to go anywhere, but lets find out. Thanks for reading this.

Rolands Sy is very nice and quick. He has spent a lot of time on it. If I could afford it I would buy it my self. You definitely would be getting a fast truck. It does 11.4x's easy on NO BOOST LAUNCH and only at 18psi. I definitely think you could get high 10's out of this truck withlittle effort.

LATEST UPDATE...... FOR SALE, BEST OFFER OVER 10K.

Last saturday was local Turbo Thunder. I thought what a great place to show off the truck, for sale sign in window and a couple 11 second passes should bring some interested folks around to look it over. On the trip to the track in 80* weather, AC isn't working (I should have turned back right there). Locals Randy and Pablo didn't pass tech. due to battery relocations, and I ended up being the only SyTy running. Turbo cars finally get the call..... first pass (only pass) was a nightmare. Truck would nose over at 4k rpm, go down to 3k then start over again, backfire, then all over again. Very embarrassing to say the least. I recorded the run, but the data was so garbled that nothing could be determined from it. I managed to limp home ok. Over the last week I found the following; coil wire was not snapped down, fueling was way off on both fuel systems, engine seems louder, and runs poorly. I plugged the coil wire in, determined that the wideband 02 had gone south for the summer so it has been replaced, and replaced the plugs. Truck runs MUCH better, but still seems louder than it use to..... doubtfull my hearing is improving. AC needs a hit of R134A which new owner can take care of.

The bottom line is, I want the truck gone. I'm tired of working on it and want my bloody hands to heal.
THIS TRUCK IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR NON EXPERIENCED SYTY'RS DUE TO THE MANY MODIFICATIONS.

I forgot to mention....
Sy has an alarm system, and I believe it is draining the battery. Not an immediatte problem as there is a battery shutoff on the back bumper that I use. Was going to have local audio/video/alarm expert MAITAI remove it, but don't plan on bothering with it now.

Sy has no dipstick for checking engine oil. Four bolts mains =) However, there is a dipstick tube going into the engine, but only sticks out a few inches on the outside. I had a modified extension on it, but removed it as I thought it was leaking oil. I change engine oil/filter often enough that I don't feel it to be a problem.

For clarification to some items I have mentioned.....

When I stated that the Sy seems louder, it is in reference to exhaust sound, NOT engine sound.

The battery drain........... isn't dead battery overnight. Over a week, possibly.,

I took the Sy out tonight to run an errand...... at 20.4 PSI on 87 octane with the Alky disconnected, it shows 8 degrees of knock retard. Next time out I will hook up the Alky lines and try it again. (it is tuned for Alky) Bottom line of what I'm trying to say here is..... THE MOTOR IS STRONG!. I still have a goofy idle that I haven't quite fiqured out, and it was not there before Turbo Thunder. So much for just parking it and forgetting it, eh? (<------ that's Canadian talk and we are close to the border)
