Exhaust manifold leak

I am looking at a very clean ty that has an exhaust maniflod link. Yes I searched, and found some helpful links, but anyone have insight into doing theirs? Thank you for the help. I heard that some people do not use gaskets. Is this true? Also, others use gasket sealer, and others have the true gasket

From the factory these trucks do not have exhaust manifold gaskets and they normally do not leak. Did you check the passengers side manifold between the front two ports. Its typical for the manifold to crack there due to the weight of the turbo. If there is no crack and nothing is warped I'd be willing to bet that some of the bolts that hold the manifold to the head are loose.

i've found if the manifolds are r&r'd they can leak if no gasket was installed
