Does anyone else believe that things in bottles like drygas,fuel injector cleaner,lubeguard etc are just scams or do they work?Anyone has a proven story???

drygas does work, but I dont think Ive ever used it as recommended :lol:
many people have stated that Lubeguard works with reguards to sticking valves and such in their transmissions.
Fuel Injection cleaner..... I tried a bunch of them years ago when my GTP developed a rough idle, everyone on the GP forum said it was a clogged injector(s), none of them ever did a damn thing IMO.
I know Octane Booster leaves little red spots on your spark plugs.
The one Ive always wondered about was Restore (oil additive). I think I tried a can of it back in the day on my VW Rabbit, but with only 1.7 Liters or whatever the engine was, it was kinda difficult to tell if it had more power or not :rotf:

There was a discussion about this on another forum that I am on not too long ago. The results with the Lucas Oil additive were interesting...

I use the lucas oil additive (oil stabilizer) and mobil1 in the Ty and both of our daily drivers.
Most stores have that tabletop display that you can turn the crank and see the oil transfer its way UP the gears.
Periodically use the Lucas injector cleaner in the dailies only and it ALWAYS improves throttle response and MPG even more noticeably.
I stay away from the bottled octane boosters.
If you want to boost that just go buy a jug of Xylene and Toulene and mix up your own.

I love rain x even use the rain x solvent to keep the windshield "fresh"

Lube guard, Dura lube (Dad drove 15 miles home with no oil cause he knocked a hole in the pan), rain X washer solvent, engine restore (noticeable difference cause motor had 200k+ on it), Mystery oil (seems to clean well, had noisy lifters) sea foam, Heet (probably cause of the meth), Lucas (oil, trans,and fuel inj). Thats about all I remember, there might be more. :2cents:

People tell me I'm obsessed with rainx. I have the latitude wipers, washer fluid, washer fluid additive, reg rainx spray, and rainx anti-fog on the inside.

I have used STP concentrated fuel injector cleaner in the black bottle for years, over 20, and it works very well for me, especially in carbureted engines. I love rain-x, don't leave home without it. I have used restore in Nemo, my '95 Neon, and it quieted down the engine a lot. Berkle 2+2 Gum Cutter will clean almost anything, spray on rinse off. I have tried water wetter, but I don't know if it worked or not.

I used restore (silver can with the pop top) in my old 93 S10 every once in a while. It ran to over 230,000 miles with no major issues. Original engine, clutch, etc. Only leaked a tiny bit from the rear main seal. I also used it in my old Saturn a few times and that car was going strong over 235k before I totalled it.
I've used lubeguard in the SY because a lot of people recommend it and who doesn't want to prolong transmission life with these trucks, right?
